Safarova beats Radwanska at Qatar Open (AP)

DOHA, Qatar (AP)—Lucie Safarova of the Czech Republic defeated
seventh-seeded Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland 7-6 (3), 6-3 in the opening round
of the Qatar Open on Monday.
Playing from the baseline, Safarova improved to 2-1 over Radwanska.
Marion Bartoli of France, the 2007 Wimbledon finalist, beat Alisa Kleybanova
of Russia 7-5, 6-2.
