Geraldine Ferraro, the first woman to be nominated for U.S. Vice-President by a major political party, died Saturday after a 12-year battle with multiple myeloma, a blood
cancer. She was 75.
Ferraro succumbed at Massachusetts General Hospital just before 10 a.m., according to Amanda Fuchs Miller, a family friend.
