The highest resolution that is supported on the typical computer today is 2560 x 1600. This is the resolution that is handled by some 30-inch monitors on the market today. Intel has announced that its coming Ivy Bridge chipset will support even higher resolutions with up to 4096 x 2304. That would mean that the chipset supports higher than 1080p resolution.
